How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse

Yes, you've read the title. This is a guide of how to survive a zombie apocalypse (and others, but mostly zombies). The difficulty will increase based on how powerful and fast the zombies are. If the zombies are the slow-moving ones like from Dawn of the Dead, then you should have no trouble as long as you don't get swarmed. If the zombies are fast, well...

It'll be a Medium.

Tips for Survivors

As a survivor, you have to survive against the onslaught of Zombies and (if you want to be heroic) also eradicate the source of those Infected, the source of the virus. Before the apocalypse starts, you'll need to get a Gun and ammo, and also learn how to use it and the Third Aid kit. You will also need to get Armour.

Don't trust anyone - Literally anyone could backstab you so don't trust a single person, if you believe someone is suspicious, knock them out.

Don't hesitate to shoot - You should ALWAYS make sure to shoot any zombies or other threats coming your way to test if they are hostile.

Avoid suspicious people - If someone looks suspicious or seems to be chasing you or coming to your area, shoot them immediately. Or, knock them out and interrogate them.

Avoid running aimlessly around the city - This leaves you vulnerable to the zombies and threats as you most likely will pass a lot of dark areas.

If you want to hide, pick a lesser known spot - The apocalypse is in some ways like hide and seek, normally other survivors will try to check better known spots at first and you don't want that. If you go to a spot that everyone knows you may be in a bit of trouble if one sees you.

Harder to access spots for Defense can work, especially ones with an easy way to kill threats if they come.

Know your spot. Know it's weaknesses and strengths.

Don't miscalculate the risks - whatever you plan to do there are always going to be risks, something to think about is when you are going on a supply run? Is the spot hard to get to?

ALWAYS move out of the way of weapons-

Always move away from your partner that's using a weapon, because it may cause you death and friendly-fire. Especially a chainsaw.

Types of Survivors

• The Scaredy Survivor: The one who likes to stay in a big, protected area and does nothing because he knows his team can do it for him.

• The Wanderer: Breaks Rule 4, the one who wanders across the infected cities and lives on the edge, ready for risk and ready for action.

• The Investigator: "I've got my eyes on you, sunshine"

• The True Survivor: The one that is very helpful to their team, has a large feeling of leadership, knows how to use the Third Aid Kit, the list goes on.

How to Survive in Certain Areas

1. Aquarium (the aquatic zoo, not the one in your home)

You can use the cafeteria for your advantage. There are usually knives, food, and if you want to be creative, you can throw pans at threats. The most rated spot is trying to reach the reception area. If there are zombies coming your way, you can shoot them through the doors, and create blockades using different materials to slow them down. If you're outnumbered, run towards the exit and close the door immediately. This would buy you some time to run.

2. Museum

The best place is usually the top floors. Usually, there is just 1-3 stairs leading to the top floor. You can block off the emergency exit stairs and make each one of your team guard a stairway, and start gunning them down. A shotgun or an M16 is useful to clear out small hordes. Just remember, don't be afraid to retreat when things get messy...

3. Cruise Ship

This one is extremely difficult. Usually we hijack ships for escaping zombies in mainland, and not dealing with zombies in the middle of the ocean. There are not much places to hide, but the most likely one would be the upper deck. You can camp out in the captain's room, so you can still control the ship. Make sure to take shifts for guarding the doors. Windows, too.

4. Office

There's not much I can say in the office. Offices are made for lots of people, so you can easily get overrun by zombies. Just stay with groups and avoid wandering off until you and your group finds an exit.

5. Theme Park

Theme parks are also considered public. And theme parks are often very huge, so you'll need to be familiar with the layout, or you'll get lost and die. Avoid using the rides to escape as they would most likely stop and let the zombies kill you. If you want to be an extremist and you don't have vertigo, you can climb up the rails of the rollercoasters to get a higher ground.

6. Cities like Venice

Venice is known for the abundance of water-related activities, such as transportation, and even making the rivers as roads. This can be useful. The best place is a big ship. The zombies have limited intelligence (they're supposed to be dead, so I'd say they have low intelligence), making them drown in the water. You can also set sail on the ship, but that's optional.
