Another day, another mission in the bunker for Steven and his Scavenger friends. Only this time, Mr. Green wanted to speak to Steven and the group privately in his office. Steven told his roommates (yes, they share the same room) about this, and started to make their way towards the office.
In the office, Mr. Green started to tell them about a long journey.
"So, I have a long mission for you all on this one. I may or may not have known about a special item called the Seeds of Life.", he said.
The Scavengers asked about this, with Mr. Green replying, "There has been a legend that a nature company called Greenhouse Research has developed a seed that can withstand against the radiation of the planet, therefore growing plants. However, the project was unknowingly abandoned. Then, yesterday, a scavenger from Group F has found a dome-like structure. I'm positive it's the Greenhouse Research lab. I have marked the location in your map, and it'll take about a week to get there, so pack up all the things that you'll need and start your adventure".
Jack complained for Steven is still a newbie, so he shouldn't take the journey. Mr. Green replied that it is crucial for Steven's understanding about this post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Steven went inside the team's room and packed up everything he finds useful. Books for entertainment, mushroom stew for food, hazmat suits and mask, stone related tools and weapons, and finally torches. He put them inside the bag, with Jack, Murph, and Derek waiting near the exit. Steven was still scared to go up, following that Shredder attack in the water tank. But, at least he knew that his team has got his back.
In the midst of their journey, they decided to scavenge anything that they could find in the Town of Walton. After some searching (and nearly dying because they searched a dark area with a Shredder in it), they found some weapons, a shield, and some leftover mushroom stew. Oddly enough, they did a Rock-Paper-Scissors to see who got the shield. After a rough time in the Town of Walton, they made their way to the edge of the town, and what stood in front of them is a long, dark, and ominous tunnel. Derek noticed a hut in the mountain, and told the team to go check it out, while he hid behind a box. Steven, Jack, and Murph noticed someone inside. "You really aren't polite, are you?", the figure asked. The team looked at each other and asked the figure what they're doing here. They said that they were... well, living here.
The figure told who they were. They said that they came from an organization that's been monitoring the 'Judgement Day' shenanigans since the beginning, and that he thought a powerful power is hidden within a volcano, which is said to be protected by Shredders. He thought that the answer behind all this is in that volcano, and that they need to enter it. The team replied that they were searching for an abandoned laboratory owned by Greenhouse Research.
The figure just answered with a nod, and told them to visit his friend, Brawn. The team left the hut, and started a debate on whether to enter the dark tunnel that would be the reason they die, or hike the mountain that the tunnel is craved out of. They chose the tunnel option and said, "If we die, we die!". With a feeling for hope, the team entered through the tunnel.
After one hour, they made it to the end. There wasn't anything inside trying to eat or kill them. The tunnel lead to another city called Grieftown. Jack told the team that the day is getting late and that they should find shelter. And that means entering Grieftown. On their way to find shelter, Steven stood in dread and fear as he saw a Shredder in front of them. The Shredder shrieked, and that's when the group ran.
Derek tripped and fell, and the others couldn't really do much. That is until another survivor emerges and throws a torch to the opposite side of the Shredder. It seemed transfixed to the torch, and started to go where the torch is thrown. The survivor took them up an elevator shaft, and it lead to an unfinished building. Apparently, Murph vomited while looking back at the way down, looks like vertigo, Jack said. The group wanted to thank the survivor, but they raised their weapon and told the group to drop their weapons.
The group did what they asked, and the survivor told the group to introduce themselves and their purpose. "Um, I'm Steven. This is Jack, Murph, and Derek. We're here in search of an abandoned laboratory, owned by a company called Greenhouse Research.", Steven replied. The survivor froze, and said, "I've been trying to track it down for years. I thought no one else knew its existence.", they said.
"Well, our leader, Mr. Green, is the one that told us. He said it contained 'seeds of life'.", Steven replied. The survivor finally lowered their weapons, and introduced themselves.
"My name's Kelly. And, well, this is my base. On an unfinished building.", she said.
"Wait, you're a gi-", Murph shut Jack's mouth before finishing his sentence.
"Get some rest. We have a big job tomorrow. Just... don't touch my things, especially my bed!", Kelly said.
A new day, not in The Bunker this time. Kelly gave the group canned food and mushrooms. The canned food tasted awful, but it's the food for survival these days. Kelly told the group to come to the 'meeting room' to discuss their plan. "I call this... Operation Egg Heist.", she said. "You know that pink supermarket in the distance? Rumor has it that it contains a Shredder Egg that hasn't hatched. Which is weird because Shredder eggs usually take 1-2 months to hatch. It's guarded by bandits these days, and I'm sure they know something about this egg. If you can bring the egg to me, I can take research on it and probably bring you to the lab you're trying to get to.". The gang agreed, and started to look at the layout of the supermarket. The supermarket itself is pretty medium.
Murph hatched up a plan, and explained it to the group. Derek and Jack will distract the guards in the outside, meanwhile Murph and Steven would breach and deal with any bandits inside. So, let the heist begin...
Jack and Derek approached the base with nothing.
"Hold it! Who the Heck are you supposed to be?", the bandits said.
"We're just lone travelers seeking a new home. Anyways, we have a joke. Do you wanna hear it?", Jack asked.
The bandits didn't seem to respond, but they nodded. "What is an object that is both a small thing and a number?", Derek asked.
"A quarter! Get it? Because a quarter is 1/4 and...". The bandits aimed their weapons, and escorted them to the base. Meanwhile, Murph and Steven broke the window, and started the search.
Jack and Derek were brought to the bandit captain's room, and the captain said,
"Well, well. Looks like we have a couple intruders in our base. What brings you here? The egg?". Both Jack and Derek said that they were looking for food and shelter. "Pfft. Typical alibi.", captain said.
"The name's Lucas, and I'm sure you won't remember that name after I cut your throat!". Jack pulled out a smoke bomb, and quickly left the scene.
Murph and Steven finally found the egg, which costs $1,000,000,000. But, who cares? Steven smashed the glass surrounding it, and took the egg.
"What do we do, boss?", a bandit asked. "God darn it, why are you still here?! They're a distraction! That girl must've been the one responsible for all this crap! Now go!", the captain replied with anger and fury.
The group managed to get away, but was still chased by gunshots and the bandits. Kelly arrived and brought them back to her base. The remaining bandits chased them and went up the elevator, but Kelly was prepared.
She threw a lighter from above, and within seconds the whole place burnt.
"That's overkill!", Jack replied. Kelly ignored, and gave the group shiny chest plates, which are said to be bulletproof.
"It seems like you gained my trust. Now, about that lab... I know the fastest way to get there, and for that I need one of my friends, Chester. We'll need to get to his village in order to get the fastest way.", Kelly said. The group added a new member and off they go, leaving Griefville.
"Hehe. You don't know what's coming...", Lucas mumbled. He followed the group to get back the egg.
